MVR AGM outcome
On 27 November we held our AGM online, as a result we how have a full line-up of Committee members with the following having been voted in: Fiona Spencer (Chair), Andy Hoskins (Vice-Chair), Yvonne Abel (Secretary), along with our existing team who were all willing to continue in post. You can read a summary of our annual report for 2020/21 here.
We hope to see many of you on future walks, and, if rambling is new to you, to welcome you to our group. If you have any questions or suggestions you wish to put to the Committee please do get in touch. You will find all our email addresses on the Contacts page of our website.
Winter Festivities
We have lots of walks on offer during what we know can be a difficult time for some, over the Christmas/New Year period. These include a carol singing walk, a Christmas morning walk, and many others of varying lengths, between 3 and 13 miles, to suit all tastes; full details can be found in the Walks Filter.
You are welcome to join any of these walks, some require pre-booking, others you can join on the day. Please always check our website for walk details before you set off, because walks may be subject to change or cancellation.
Norbury Park Consultation
Surrey County Council has published a vision document about the future of Norbury Park and the Sawmill site within it. We encourage anyone who cares about Norbury Park to read the vision document and take up the opportunity to respond before 29 November.
It is worth reading the full document, not least for some lovely photos therein, but you might prefer to start with this summary.
The full SCC document can be seen here.
Leith Hill Picnic - 8th Oct
Our third enjoyable multi-walk picnic was held on October 8th. There was a choice of four different walks ranging from 4 to 11 miles all merging at Leith Hill Tower so that we could get together again for some congenial company and a picnic.
Life’s A Picnic - 3rd Sept
Steers Field, Denbies Hillside, Ranmore was the most recent location for the second in our series of monthly picnics. These have been enthusiastically welcomed by our members and provide an ideal way for the group to meet up and socialise during these strange times.
