Simon Strudwick reflected: "Back in 2019, I recall walking with Henri, who was at the time planning a 100 miles in 10 days walk festival; I was really interested to see if I could achieve this. Obviously the world then stopped and everything planned was scrapped, but it did not go from my memory . . .

I have walked with Mole Valley a lot recently and when I saw the spring festival advertising, I thought this must be my time. Then I saw it was over 8 days and I could only get 90 miles by doing the longest walk each day, including 2 on the Friday with Henri's night walk. When I started planning the walks I realised I could walk to the start of some.

I had some holiday carried over from 2020 at work, so by taking 6 days I was all set and went for it. My total distance walked in the 8 days was actually 103.66 miles!

I would like to thank all the walk leaders, each and every one deserves a medal; each walk has been a great one through stunning countryside.

We are so lucky in Mole Valley to have such a wonderful range of beautiful places.
