Welcome to Mole Valley Ramblers
Chinthurst Hill - 5 May 2018
Welcome to Mole Valley Ramblers, offering friendly group walking across the heart of Surrey and further afield. Both on weekdays and at weekends we provide a range of walks, generally 5-7 miles for half day walks and 10-12 for full day walks. We also offer shorter more leisurely walks, of 3-5 miles, for those who would prefer to begin with something gentler.
If you are looking for the chance to try out new walking routes, or to get to know more about the beautiful countryside surrounding us in Dorking, Leatherhead, Reigate and Epsom then do come and join us. Mole Valley is embedded in the most glorious countryside of the Surrey Hills: Box Hill, Ranmore, Leith Hill, Newlands Corner, Reigate Hill – with many many miles of footpaths, beautiful woodland and stunning views. Sometimes the walks will venture further afield on whole day trips to neighbouring counties, the South Downs, or into London.
If you are new to the area, or just a bit unsure about finding your way around, it can be comforting to know that you can leave your map behind, and follow one of our volunteer leaders who will have planned the route. You can find out more by clicking on individual dates of "Our next walks" on this page, or go to the Table of walks page to see our full programme.
There is no need to pre-book, just decide on the day, pack your walking boots, a waterproof, and refreshments, and make your way to the walk starting point. If you are concerned about the weather, you might find this quote from John Ruskin helpful: "Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather".
You are welcome on any of our walks, wherever you live. There is no need to join the Ramblers Association in advance, you may try out any of our walks for free. But if you like what you find on your first few walks we look forward to welcoming you as a regular member of Mole Valley Ramblers.
